Half of India's adult population vaccinated with at least one dose

Half of India’s adults, who are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, have been administered at least one vaccine dose. 

There has been 99% coverage among healthcare workers and 100% among front-line workers for the first dose. Slightly over 60% of the people aged above 60 have received at least the first dose of a COVID vaccine. In the month of August, the average daily vaccinations have increased to 52.16 lakh doses thus far, as opposed to 43.41 lakh in July and 39.38 lakh in June. The vaccine supply situation also appears to be satisfactory in the country as there have been no reports of vaccine shortage in the past few weeks from any state.
